Gentle At-Home Euthanasia for Your Beloved Pet

We welcome all clients who would like to discuss or book a euthanasia appointment with us. We understand this can be a difficult time but we would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that your instinctive concerns about your pet's well being are important and should be explored.

Deciding that it is time to say a final goodbye to your beloved pet is one of the hardest decisions any pet owner can face. We believe that one of the most compassionate things we can do for our patients is to help them pass away peacefully, in the comfort and privacy of their own home, surrounded by their loved ones.

We offer at-home euthanasia services, providing a gentle and respectful end-of-life experience for pets and their families. This service ensures that your pet's final moments are as peaceful and dignified as possible. Euthanasia is done with a painless overdose of anaesthetic, given as an intravenous injection. We give this after we have sedated our patients, so they are in a deep and peaceful sleep.

If you're unsure whether it is the right time to say goodbye, or if you need guidance through the process, we recommend booking a telephone consultation or a face-to-face consultation to discuss end-of-life planning.

For pets that may be nervous or reactive, particularly those we have not seen before, a face-to-face consultation is highly recommended. This allows us to assess their needs and, if necessary, prescribe anxiolytics to help ensure that your pet's final moments are calm and stress-free.

We understand that this is a deeply emotional time, and we are here to support you through every step of the process.

What Happens During the Visit

When we arrive, we will spend some quiet time with you — talking everything through and giving you and your family space to feel ready. There is never any rush.

When the time feels right, we will guide the process gently so that your pet can pass away peacefully and with dignity, surrounded by love and familiarity.

You are welcome to stay close to them throughout in whatever way feels most comforting to you.

Aftercare Arrangements

You may choose either home burial or cremation following your pet’s passing.  Please see below for our recommended crematoriums, many offer home collection and delivery of ashes.

If you opt for collection, we ask that this is arranged at least 3 hours after your appointment ETA to allow for a peaceful, unhurried process.

We therefore recommend euthanasia appointments are booked between 7:00am and midday where possible.

For appointments after 1:00pm, collection is best arranged for the following morning.

Many families appreciate having a delay between the appointment and the collection of their beloved little one to allow them the space to say goodbye at home in their own way and at their own pace.

If you would like any guidance, we are always here to help. When booking, we will advise you on the best time to arrange your pet’s collection to help ensure everything runs smoothly for you.

Payment

To allow you space to grieve after the matter, we ask for payment in advance. We completely understand how difficult this time is, so when you feel ready to proceed, we will gently arrange the invoice and payment details for you — there is no urgency until you feel able.

Please remember that this is an incredibly personal decision, and there is no right or wrong way to say goodbye. If you have any questions at all, or if you would like guidance at any stage, we are here to support you with compassion, kindness, and respect.
