Important notice for Pet travel to destinations outside of the EU

As of January 8 2025, The Ealing Vet is no longer able to accept vaccination requests from clients who are likely to/and/or planning on travelling to destinations outside of the European Union including but not limited to the USA and Canada. Please do not book with us if your pet fits into this category. If you have received vaccinations prior to January 8 2025 and may need to travel to such destinations please contact us as soon as possible.

Preparation and Responsibility

The Ealing Vet can not help with any aspects of travel and does not take any responsibility for a pet reaching it's final travel destination as intended by the pet owner.

It is solely the pet owner’s responsibility to ensure they meet all the necessary requirements for their pet's travel, in order to avoid travel disruptions.

Please do not book our vaccination services until you have verified the full requirements for your destination from your chosen airline, travel agency and DEFRA.

Please read our Travel terms and conditions regarding request of documentation from our practice.

For pet travel to the destinations within the EU

Please note all rabies vaccinations are as standard provided with clinical history after the appointment. We can recommend and refer to well known AHC providers for all clients who have received a rabies vaccination from us.

 Boarding your Pet

If you are planning to board your pet within the UK, you may require a vaccination card, as proof of your pet's vaccination status. Please ensure that you request your vaccination card at the time of booking your pet's appointment with us. Vaccination card requests outside of vaccination appointments will incur a fee and also require 7 working days to provide. Please see Travel Terms and conditions for more information on our fees.

Travel Requirements Vary

Travel requirements for pets are not universal. Each country and agency has its own specific regulations when it comes to vaccinations, parasite treatments, microchipping, blood tests, and more. These requirements can also change frequently. It is also important to note that rules will also vary depending on the agency, airline and individual official vet that is completing your pet's paperwork. For pets travelling to the USA or Canada, airline agencies have stringent requirements that require months of preparation in advance. Requirements also vary depending on the official vet that is completing your pets paperwork.

 Documentation and Vaccination Services:

Currently, we are unable to issue specific documents required by Official Veterinarians (OVs), such as the Animal Health Certificate (AHC), which may be needed for travel to certain countries.

Despite this, we can still assist with administering the necessary vaccinations (e.g., rabies vaccinations) required for international travel. These vaccinations are an essential step in preparing your pet for travel and can be given by us, prior to further arrangements being made for the official documentation.

Booking Vaccinations with Us:

Pre-Planning: Before booking any travel-related vaccinations, it is essential to ensure you have fully understood the vaccination timeline and requirements for your destination. The process often involves multiple steps, and failure to follow the correct sequence can lead to delays or issues with travel. Most, if not all boarding facilities will require a vaccination card as proof of vaccination; please ensure that you request this from us at the time of booking your appointment.

Scheduling: You must plan well in advance. Depending on the country you are travelling to, some vaccinations (like rabies) require a waiting period between administration and travel (often 21 days). Additionally, some countries may require certain vaccines or treatments to be administered within a specific time frame before your departure.

 Read Our Terms and Conditions:
